Why is TPR (Thermoplastic Rubber) backing superior to PVC dot backing for washable rugs?

Unlike cheap PVC dot backings which dry out, crumble, and shed yellow toxic powder after 3–5 washes, TPR (Thermoplastic Rubber) is a flexible synthetic vulcanized elastomer. It maintains durable non-slip grip, elasticity, and structure across 30–50+ domestic machine wash cycles without cracking or peeling.

Can large 8x10 or 9x12 area rugs with TPR backing be washed in home washing machines?

Yes. Hileewoo area rugs are engineered with a flexible, foldable composite structure. When quad-folded, an 8x10 rug weighs under 18 lbs and fits comfortably into standard 4.5+ cu.ft front-load domestic washing machines without permanent creasing or seam damage.

Will TPR rug backing stain, scratch, or damage hardwood or Luxury Vinyl Plank (LVP) floors?

No. Hileewoo's TPR formulation is plasticizer-free and VOC-free, preventing chemical reactions that cause yellowing or staining on luxury vinyl plank (LVP), glazed ceramic tiles, or polyurethane-coated natural hardwood floors.

How many domestic wash cycles can Hileewoo washable rugs withstand?

In standard AATCC 135 / ISO 6330 wash durability testing, Hileewoo washable rugs with TPR backing survive over 30 to 50 domestic machine wash cycles at 30°C (86°F) with zero delamination, zero fiber loss, and intact edge overlocking.

Is TPR backing safe for use over radiant floor heating systems?

Yes. The TPR backing compound withstands sustained temperatures up to 60°C (140°F) without melting, emitting odors, or losing adhesion to the primary textile face fabric, making it fully compatible with underfloor radiant heating systems.
